About Us

Mom to Kaden, Wife to John, a constant project-a-holic and always having something going on.

I met my wonderful husband when I was still in college at Arizona State University after he graduated from Northern Arizona University. He was completing his paperwork to become an Officer in the USMC and I had no idea what I was getting myself into at that point (to be honest, I still don't know sometimes). BUT I did know one thing, and that was regardless of what our lifestyle would be- I knew I would be alright as long as I had him by my side. We got engaged right before I graduated with my Bachelors degree, I packed up my stuff and moved to California. Now- this isn't the California we see on T.V with the beaches, this is Twentynine Palms, CA.
(Notice the endless view of mountains...that was my backyard view)
I was fortunate enough to land my first out of college job working in Behavioral Health with at risk youth. John and I got married on July 23, and he later deployed on our first deployment.  I learned a lot during that time, (I'll be happy to share later) but after 6 months apart I was joined with our fur-baby Sophie (she has a big part in our family) on welcoming him home. Later on that year after planning worlds apart we celebrated our wedding on November 12th with our family and friends.

We got readjusted to married life together for a while, until we found out that we were adding another person to our family, expected to arrive in April of 2014. However, that wonderful person decided he wanted to make his appearance a lot earlier than we had anticipated. Shortly after his arrival, John had to leave on his second deployment while Kaden and I got acquainted with each other first at the NICU and then at home (his story will come at another time). After 7 long months we welcomed our Marine home with open arms.

After John came home, we were saying see you later to California and hello to our new home in Virginia. This blog is a way for us to document our adventures whether they be positive or negative and our way of navigating our way through them. Thanks for joining us on our ride!
